About the event
The Arts in the Middle Fine Arts Festival is a collaborative event bringing together artists from the east coast and beyond to showcase their works, to demonstrate the impact the arts can have on smaller communities, and to celebrate the creative spirit in rural Virginia.
AIM Leadership: Arts in the Middle Fine Arts Festival is presented by a team of local artists, musicians, business leaders, and arts lovers supporting a vibrant arts scene in Middlesex County and the region.
Show Venue: Hewick Plantation is a beautifully restored historic landscape and architectural jewel, one of the most significant manor homes in its heyday of the 1600s. More than three centuries later the grandeur remains. Hewick offers the perfect outdoor venue for artists who showcase their works on the expansive lawn along a shaded gravel path. Less than 1/2 mile away is the charm of the historic port village of Urbanna, home of the famed Fall Urbanna Oyster Festival and popular for shopping, dining and colonial history. While visiting the show, be sure to tour the waterfront village of Urbanna and all it has to offer.
