Crafting
Memories

Sea Through The Wood is a place where craftsmanship meets nostalgia. As a young boy, over 6 decades ago, David learned the art of woodworking from his grandfather. The best part of the woodworking was the time David and his grandfather spent together. Working with his grandfather, David made wooden bird houses, reindeer and elephants that were used as plant stands or for toys, and children’s furniture. Although David’s grandfather died many years ago, the enjoyment of woodworking and creating fun and functional pieces was so much a part of David’s life that he continued to enjoy woodworking as a hobby.

In 2022, after retiring from over 40 years running his own business, David now has the time to do what he loves – creating beautiful functional art and home décor from live edge wood. Working with his wife Barbara, who focuses on design, texture and color,  David uses live edge wood with epoxy, to create tables, charcuterie trays, coasters, clocks, lazy susan’s and so much more.

Why live edge wood? – the natural beauty of wood is timeless; every piece of live edge wood is distinctive blending nature and aesthetics with practicality. The more unusual the wood, the more fun and creative we can be.
